This summer, Devon's Boringdon Hall - a storybook luxury manor house nestled on the edge of Dartmoor - is inviting guests to take a seat at the teddy bears' table. It's introducing the Teddy Bear Afternoon Tea, a limited-edition experience blending childhood nostalgia with grown-up indulgence, served within the historic surrounds of this Grade I listed hotel. It's running from the 1st of July until the 31st of August 2025 (which falls during Afternoon Tea Week from the 11th until the 17th of August).
No afternoon tea would be complete without a delicious selection of savouries and sweets, rolled out on the hotel's signature Boringdon cake trolley. The menu draws inspiration from classic picnic favourites - think warm sausage rolls, mini quiches, and delicate finger sandwiches filled with ham, smoked salmon and dill crème fraîche, and cheese with chive.
There's also freshly baked scones - both plain and fruit - served with rich clotted cream and a trio of seasonal preserves. Each element is carefully considered, offering a comforting yet luxurious take on the quintessential teatime ritual.
In true Boringdon style, there's an opportunity to elevate the experience with a splash of sparkle. Guests can choose to add a glass of Laurent-Perrier La Cuvée Brut for an additional £20 per person, or Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Rosé for £23.50 per person - perfect for marking a special occasion or simply celebrating summer in style. The Teddy Bear Afternoon Tea is ideal for families, couples, and friends. Whether you're reminiscing about childhood picnics or creating new memories in an enchanting setting, this whimsical new offering promises an afternoon to remember. £35 per person.
