Enjoy a very Cornish Christmas at The Cove

The Cove restaurant in Maenporth, Cornwall is pleased to announce a new series of winter offers, designed to help locals enjoy their first covid-free Christmas and New Year, without the unprecedented costs. Whether dining early, visiting with family or looking to enjoy an extra festive tipple – there's something to help everyone save this season.

The Cornish creation of Michael Caines MBE, The Cove can be found on the coast of Maenporth Beach, serving delicious seasonal produce with uninterrupted views of Falmouth Bay. With new winter menus presented by Head Chef Stuart Shaw, the sea view restaurant and bar is the perfect solution for a cosy Cornish Christmas this year.

Christmas Day at The Cove consists of a decadent festive themed five-course tasting menu followed by coffee and petit fours. Highlights include pumpkin and sage agnolotti with truffle cappuccino and parmesan or Jerusalem artichoke velouté to start followed by the main course including Christmas classics such as roast wicket's turkey with apricot and cranberry stuffing, mashed potato, parsnip and vanilla puree. Vegetarians can enjoy caramelised cauliflower steak with puree, artichoke crisps, cumin velouté and soaked golden raisins or a dedicated vegan menu. Dessert includes traditional Christmas pudding, passion fruit crème brûlée and a selection of Cornish cheeses.

Come ew Year's Eve, revellers can begin the celebrations with a selection of canapés at The Cove accompanied by a glass of Michael Caines' Blanc de Blanc Champagne. Highlights of the ensuing seven-course tasting menu include three-way duck ballotine, raspberry caramel glaze, smoked haddock brandade with Scottish langoustine and herb-crusted cannon of lamb with crushed artichoke, lemon anchovy and rosemary jus. Enjoy a wide selection of English sparkling wines on the menu, paired with panoramic views of the Cornish coastline, alive with celebratory fireworks.
