Celebrate Christmas and New Year's Eve at Ugly Butterfly in St. Ives
In the words of Chef Adam Handling, 'The festive season is going to be all the more special this year – none of us will ever take spending time with our families and friends for granted again. So, after the year we've had – let's get together with everyone we love and have a real party.' It's with this in mind that Adam and his team have created a showstopping Christmas and New Year's Eve offering at his latest restaurant, Ugly Butterfly, in St. Ives, Cornwall.
Guests can enjoy the most wonderful time of the year with the most beautiful views across the Cornish coastline at Ugly Butterfly in Carbis Bay. With a real focus on celebrating produce found in and around Cornwall, Adam and Head Chef Jamie Park have created outstanding Christmas and New Year's Eve menus that showcase sustainable, local luxury at its best. Christmas additions to the a la carte and tasting menus (£115pp) include 'festive duck, quince, swede', 'AH Christmas pudding, brandy parfait, nutmeg' and 'chocolate, clementine, rosemary'.
The Ugly Butterfly festive menu will also be available on Boxing Day from 12.00pm – 4.30pm. On Christmas Day, Ugly Butterfly will be open for Christmas lunch between 12.30pm – 2.00pm, serving a stunning three-course Christmas menu for £175pp.
Alongside signature Adam Handling snacks and 'chicken butter', guests can opt for 'spider crab, squash, apple', and 'smoked ham hock terrine, dates' starters, 'roast turkey', 'beef wellington', and 'whole sole' main courses, all served with all the trimmings.
After dessert, all guests are served a Cornish cheese plate and the most moreish mince pies. Adam and Jamie have pulled out all the stops for the very first New Year's Eve at Ugly Butterfly, with a stunning seven-course tasting menu (£250pp), available for lunch or dinner, which comes complete with a glass of Adam Handling sparkling wine on arrival. Dishes include 'All About the Sturgeon', a dish that showcases sustainability at its finest, using the entirety of the sturgeon rather than just the caviar, alongside signature AH dishes like 'mushroom agnolotti, garlic, parsley', 'lobster, beef fat' and new additions including 'beef rib, artichoke, truffle'.
To truly end the year in style, guests can head into the Ugly Butterfly bar after dinner and party the night away with a live DJ. For anyone enjoying a coastal winter's walk along the bay, Ugly Butterfly have set up a festive stall on the coastal path next to the restaurant, where walkers can indulge in Taittinger Champagne, mulled wine, warm cider, and mince pies to take along their route.
