Popular Plymouth pub the Golden Hind has appointed a new general manager, Joanne Purchase, who previously worked at the Tamar pub in Plymouth for four years as an assistant manager.
Speaking of her appointment, Joanne said: "It has always been a dream of mine to run a pub and I couldn't have wished for a better one. The locals and staff have made me feel so welcome and part of a massive family. I have lived in Plymouth for ten years now and thanks to the people around me I feel so at home."
The Golden Hind has recently launched a new menu featuring a range of dishes including small plates, Alabama BBQ bacon burger and katsu curry.
The pub also fundraises for Macmillan Cancer Support and more recently Joanne walked 29 miles with some of her team raising £1,000. The fundraising efforts will continue this year with the pub hosting a Ladies Night on the 15 October the funds raised will provide vital support for someone living with cancer.
