TRENANCE HERITAGE COTTAGES SET TO LIGHT UP WINTER

TRENANCE HERITAGE COTTAGES lit UP in WINTER

The trustees of Trenance Heritage Cottages and the café owners at The Garden Café are excited to announce that following an infrastructure grant from Experience Newquay there will be three new experiences of 'Trees and Tales' based at The Cottages. The light displays will add something special for Halloween, Christmas and St.Pirans Week and will be accompanied by various events and performances.

The Cottages worked with the café to put forward a plan for lighting up the trees surrounding The Heritage Cottages to the Experience Newquay panel. Last year saw additional lights added to the cottages already beautiful large Christmas tree and the public gave a huge positive response. The new uplit trees and projections onto the cottages will be changed depending on the season and will provide a stunning walk-through experience for locals and visitors to the town.

This will be something Newquay has never seen before and enhance heritage location with state-of-the art lighting ability. Jill Willmott, chair of the Board of Trustees explains; "We were so delighted to have the chance to bring more to the Newquay community by utilising our fabulous park location. The cottages celebrate their ten-year anniversary next year since our renovation and reopening and this a fantastic way to bring a new wave people down to see us. The light displays and events for each time of year will provide something special through winter and whether you are driving by or walking through we hope to bring something people can share and participate in. The funding will benefit our charity, the town and the whole of Trenance Valley and we would like to thank everyone involved in making this happen."

The first experience goes live for Halloween on 27th October. The big Christmas switch on of the Christmas Tree and full light displays with performances will be on Saturday 23rd November. The Christmas lights will be on every night through until Christmas with full details on all activities to be announced after the summer. Local Newquay electricians and lightning designers have been used to design and install the infrastructure over the summer period ready for autumn.

Experience Newquay who awarded the grant is a project promoting sustainable year-round tourism whilst connecting local Cornish communities and visitors with Newquay's unique identity via cultural activities and programming. The project supports and promote the local creative, leisure and heritage sectors.
