We catch up with Mandy Winn at Frocks & Frills in Falmouth, Cornwall, about winter wedding trends

Frocks & Frills in Falmouth, Cornwall offer this blue bridesmaids dress Mandy Winn is the owner of Frocks & Frills Wedding Studio located near Falmouth in Cornwall, a one-stop wedding shop with more than 400 dresses in store from an array of designers including Veromia, Romantica, and the multi-award winning Sonsie plus-size collection.

We catch up with Mandy about bridal dress styles and accessories that are perfect for winter weddings, plus what to pick for style and warmth, and which seasonal colours would be good options for bridesmaids' gowns.

Mandy says: "Winter is such a magical time of the year to get married. Dresses with plenty of sparkle add that extra special touch, whether it's sequins on lace appliqué, a glitter-tulle under skirt or even a beaded belt. The warmer tones of champagne, blush and oyster are becoming increasingly popular for many brides as an alternative to traditional ivory or white gowns. Many styles are now available with sleeves which make a real statement, and capes or cape veils are a good investment because they can be easily removed for the reception."

"Our bridesmaids' dresses are available in every colourway but I recommend warm, autumnal shades for a winter wedding. Dark bold tones of green, gold, copper, burnt orange, deep red, purple and blue work well, as does silver. Satin is a slightly heavier, warmer material, and why not consider a fully sequinned style for your bridesmaids?"

"To finish your bridal look, faux fur wraps or stoles are available in a wide range of colours and styles which suit most dresses."
