Rebecca and Jonathan were colleagues working in their local supermarket when they met. "I knew I wasn't there permanently because I was off to university," Rebecca tells us. "We started hanging out together at work parties, which soon progressed to socialising with our mutual friends, and there was something very special between us. I thought he was very cute and such a laugh. I sensed that he secretly liked me too."
The couple moved in together after a few months of dating when Rebecca went off to university and became engaged during a trip to Rome for her birthday in 2017. "Jonathan took me to Italy, which was so romantic," she tells us. "During the first few days away he seemed a bit nervous and I was beginning to wonder what was up. After a day visiting the Vatican and the Colosseum, we headed back to our hotel room where he placed a stunning diamond ring on my finger. I was overjoyed."
Here, Rebecca tells us about their special day at the Woolacombe Bay Hotel with rose and dusky pink touches.
Woolacombe Bay Hotel is set on the Devon coast overlooking the beach withbreathtaking views. We knew we wanted this iconic building to be the backdrop for ourofficial photographs.
The interior of the hotel is so timeless and elegant, which was exactly the look we weretrying to achieve for our day. We both have large families so we wanted to find a spacethat could hold all of our loved ones but still feel intimate it ticked all of our boxes!
My dad and I wanted to embrace the traditionof arriving at the venue together so I hired aMorris Minor for us to travel in. It looked socute decorated with ribbon and it gave us theopportunity to chat about the day ahead.
My sister Emily sang and played the guitarduring the signing of our register. Shebecame overwhelmed with emotion so thewhole room helped her by singing along. Itwas one of the most memorable moments ofour wedding.
I'm a huge fan of the Great British Bake Offso choosing our cake was a real treat! Wedecided on a combination of vanilla, whitechocolate and lemon sponge wrapped inbuttercream and decorated with cream andpink roses.
My dress was the style Carendon by Romantica. It was astylish A-line gown ina delicate lace with an illusion train and sleeves. As soon as Isaw it on the hanger Ifell in love with it! Icouldn't wait to try iton and as soon as Istepped out of the dressing room and looked at myself in the mirror, I knew it was the dress for me.
Our bridesmaids wore dusky pink full-length chiffon dresses featuring embellishednecklines. Jonathan's groomsmen all wore the same as him.He had his heart set on wearing a navy suit that looked wonderful teamed with a pinktie, his buttonhole, white shirt and brown brogues.
I wore a silver diamante hair accessory similarto those that my bridesmaids had and my hairwas styled in an elegant up do.
The groomsmen wore corsages that matched thebouquets and complemented their pink ties.Jonathan and my brother James are both fans ofSuperhero comics and movies so it was veryfitting that they wore matching Batman andSuperman cufflinks.
We wanted our bridesmaids to keep their flowers as a memory of the day so we gavethem artificial ones to hold. They were white and pink flowers neatly tied with ribbonand nobody noticed that they weren't real!
