May/June 2019

Those of you planning a summer wedding will shortly be celebrating as the warmer days and longer evenings are now upon us. In my opinion, this is the best time of year to be getting married, especially in Devon or Cornwall with all that they have to offer. From chic coastal wedding venues to a cool selection of tipis and yurts available to hire, getting married in the South West can be as traditional or as informal as you like.

This issue we showcase wedding inspiration in al fresco tents and tipis with a festival feel (my favourite kind of wedding!) along with the cream of the crop of the wedding suppliers in both regions that can help to style them. There’s also real life love stories, hot honeymoons, fabulous fashion and beauty tips and tricks to get you big-day ready.

I’ve also added a selection of last-minute summer buys to invest in before your wedding so enjoy the prep and see you next issue!

Until then…

Middle Coombe Farm

Couples wanting a woodland wedding in a luxury marquee should consider this picturesque venue on the edge of Exmoor set within its own valley of over 700 acres of woodland, meadows and rolling Devonshire countryside.

Privately owned and run, it offers legal and non-legal ceremonies on-site. Legal ceremonies can be conducted under the old cider press in the traditional thatched Cider Barn or in the Grade II listed farmhouse lounge or library, while couples can choose from a wide range of areas for non-legally binding ceremonies including under the ancient oak tree deep in the heart of the woods, or at the stone circle in the meadow.

Catering for up to 100 guests, the wedding breakfast can be enjoyed in the luxury marquee overlooking this meadow. Smaller wedding feasts can be held in either the Cider Barn or in the farmhouse kitchen.

Each wedding party can enjoy full use of this historic farmhouse accommodation for up to 20 guests, when combined with the adjacent Allensdown Barn, ideal for those wanting loved ones to stay for a weekend. For the newlyweds, there’s a glamping hut located in the meadow.
