Frieda and the Moon

Nestled in a 13-acre smallholding in the beautiful Cornish countryside in an unspoilt natural environment famed for its dark skies and star-gazing is this venue that has been purposefully designed for small weddings. The Studio, a unique oak-framed building with far-flung views across the rolling countryside down a hidden valley towards the sea, features an Italianate ceiling and a spectacular Ocean Window which is a celebration of the Cornish seas in stained glass. The wrap-around balcony and three tiers of circular lawns offer endless photo opportunities.

Couples can spend two or three nights in one of the two lavishly styled luxury romantic escapes lovingly named the Tabernacle and the Observatory, each with a wood-burning fire, chiminea and hot tub plus sumptuous bedding and fluffy white towels.

Ceremonies take place in The Studio filled with fresh flowers and evening ceremonies by candlelight can also be conducted. Small receptions can also be accommodated here and in its surroundings. There are also several ceremony locations outside including by the Dreamcatcher Gate, a powder-blue structure decorated with sparkling crystals, in The Hornbeam Circle, an illuminated woodland altar located in the woods lit with candles and fairylights at twilight or in the surrounding woodland or by the springs and streams. Coming soon in 2021 is The Bower House, a cosy, candlelit wooden retreat space for small ceremonies and surprise proposals.

Small reception options include a vintage high tea with homemade sandwiches and cakes served on vintage crockery with antique linens, and a champagne breakfast hamper.

Tregulland & Co unveil luxury narrowboat

Tregulland & Co have just announced the addition of Blackbird to its holiday accommodation portfolio, a luxury narrowboat ready for cosy off-grid escapes, the ideal minimoon choice. Sleek and black on the outside and bright and white on the inside, this luxury floating suite is located at the far end of a privately owned, three-acre freshwater lake in North Devon. The backdrop of mature oak and beech ensures total privacy for couples looking to escape and while there are a couple of other boats moored on the large land-locked lake, each one is positioned to ensure a fully private outlook, tucked out of view of neighbours. Blackbird is the first of a duo which will be offered at this location by Tregulland & Co.
