Some want to embrace the Christmas classics - adding these into their day. Final Preparations Underway for Newquay Zombie Crawl 2022
The finishing touches are in motion to make sure that Newquay's infamous Zombie Crawl is more than ready for all the ghosts and ghouls this Saturday 29th October. With the scary buzz around the event hitting its peak, organisers from Newquay Business Improvement District (BID) are excited to announce a number of new additions. This year sees the resurrection of the highly popular Zombie Crawl, the last edition of which happened back in 2019. For this reason, Newquay BID is looking to give the spooktacular spectacle a fresh rejuvenation, with some new additions and creepy change-ups that will make sure that this year's instalment is one to remember. As the day creeps closer, BID businesses and other local businesses alike are preparing to welcome in supernatural spirits, local journalists, children and adults. One non-BID organisation that has gone above and beyond is the Morrisons Community Funding group, which has donated 100 pumpkins ready to be shaped by participants on the day, at the Royal British Legion.

Pop royalty, Claire Richards and Duncan James, joined forces on Saturday 17th September, as the ultimate wedding band - Simply Wed - to surprise one lucky couple with a performance of poptastic floor-filling songs on their wedding day. Anna Novelli and Samuel Hold from Bournemouth were delighted when the power duo 'crashed the wedding' at the Larmer Street in Wiltshire, to surprise guests and the lucky couple with the performance of a lifetime. The couple - both Steps and Blue superfans - were overwhelmed with joy to have the newly minted wedding supergroup perform, having known all the routines to Claire and Duncan's biggest hits since childhood!

To celebrate the nation's love of cheese, as we head into wedding season, Mini Cheddars has brought together two pop icons - Duncan James from Blue and Claire Richards from Steps - in musical matrimony to form the ultimate wedding supergroup - Simply Wed. And one lucky couple will win an exclusive performance from 'Simply Wed' at their wedding this September. To mark the launch of the wedding supergroup, Mini Cheddars commissioned research revealing the ultimate wedding playlist with Dancing Queen by ABBA taking the top spot – 46 years after it was first released. A poll of 2,000 wedding guests saw Don't Stop Me Now by Queen and Neil Diamond's Sweet Caroline complete the top three. Real Ideas, the team behind Plymouth's Ocean Studios and Market Hall, and partners have just revealed the artists and installations for the highly anticipated return of the re-imagined Illuminate ahead of the festive season. In light of the climate emergency and the pandemic, the re-imagined Illuminate occupies a smaller footprint and lasts for two weeks, from the 15th until the 28th November, giving audiences the chance to calmly experience magical light installations and participate in an inspiring range of talks, workshops, film showings and live music.
Responding to the COP26 summit, climate crisis and the impact of Covid-19 on the cultural sector, the Real Ideas team have worked with a diverse group of local and national artists alongside scientists, data experts, activists, architects, technologists and environmental experts to create the Illuminate 2021 programme.

From the 21st June, limits on wedding sizes lifted and couples across the country will be getting their wedding playlists ready, but what could be more important than the first dance song - especially for the next four weeks when this dance it the only one allowed! Selecting a song which has meaning to the special couple can be tricky. Many couples know that whatever song they choose will go on to forever be known as 'their song', which adds pressure to making the right choice. It's perhaps then no surprise that there are almost 1,000 first-dance dedicated playlists on Spotify to help couples choose, but which songs are the most favoured?
New data analysed by five-star hotel, The Grand, York has revealed the most popular songs to play during a first dance in 2021. Analysing over 57,000 songs on Spotify, the current top ten list has been revealed, and the results might just be surprising. Securing both first and third place is the hugely successful Ed Sheeran and taking second, is 2021 X Factor winner, James Arthur.
