Hot on the heels of the launch of the UK's first purpose-built socially distanced restaurant, Cornwall's coastal style hotel, St Moritz Hotel & Spa, has announced that it will also be offering 'Breakfast at the Beach Huts' to all summer 2020 guests who book a King room in their stunning establishment.
The innovative move allows King room guests the opportunity to make the most of summer, enjoying long, delicious breakfasts made with locally-sourced produce in the surrounds of a great British seaside tradition – the stripy beach hut.
The art deco-inspired St Moritz Hotel & Spa, based just outside Rock in North Cornwall, recently launched The Anti-Social Club, the first purposefully designed pop-up restaurant in the UK. Demand for bookings was so strong, and so immediate, that the creative team behind the hotel has now reworked plans to enable breakfast to be enjoyed in the sea-facing beach huts which overlook the Camel estuary towards Steppa Point and the Atlantic.
They are classic English-seaside in style, with bunting, tables and chairs, and all are individually named. New shelving and accessories have been added so that the breakfasts can be delivered to the hut before the guests arrive, meaning there are no issues with social distancing.
Guests within the King rooms will be able to pre-book an allocated time slot for their breakfast beach hut, and be able to choose from three specially designed breakfast sharing platters which will sport a combination of a vegetarian club continental breakfast, a full Cornish breakfast or a vegan three-quarter full Cornish breakfast. Guests have the option to upgrade any breakfast options to a special Cornish 'champagne' one that includes a bottle of Camel Valley's sparkling wine, from the nearby vineyard. Guests are then free to use their own personal beach hut at any time throughout their stay. They can order lunches, dinners and drinks to be delivered there, at any time of day, by pre-booked mechanisms to ensure the hut is always fully and safely set-up and ready for their enjoyment.
Across The Anti-Social Club, and the 'Breakfast at the Beach Huts' concepts, St Moritz Hotel & Spa will not only surpass the expected Government requirements on safe and socially distanced dining, it will optimise them at every turn, providing new, exclusive and fun private dining experiences for individuals, couples and groups.
Guests with accessibility needs are also catered for with a specially arranged area of the hotel's Sea Side bistro which has been reworked to ensure full wheelchair access as well as other mobility options – all in typically inspiring St Moritz style and design. Together, 'Breakfast at the Beach Huts', The Anti-Social Club and socially distanced accessible dining will usher in a new 'bubble' dining ethos as an exclusive holiday opportunity for all guests staying at the hotel during their summer of social distancing.
Co-founder and co-owner of St Moritz Hotel & Spa, Hugh Ridgway, says, "Ever since we opened this hotel, we have been innovating and evolving our proposition to keep ahead of trends and provide fresh, exciting and ultimately stylish experiences for all of our guests – all with a double dose of fun. Summer 2020 is no different. Given the excited reaction to our summer restaurant, we're now delighted to also offer breakfasts, as well as casual dining and drinking opportunities, in our brilliant little beach huts to guests booked into our King Rooms. Safe doesn't have to mean boring and we're finding every way to keep an appropriate sense of humour around all of our new options, as well as delivering yet another first in the UK market."
