Adventure-loving couples taking a mini-moon in Devon can enjoy a day trip to Darts Farm near Topsham and help raise funds for local charities.

This popular attraction is renowned for its vibrant yellow fields of pick-your-own sunflowers during the summer months, and it’s superb Maize Maze, a maze that’s constructed entirely out of the maize crop grown in the Darts Farm field.

These beautiful sunflowers have raised a total of £5,034 this year for the farm's chosen charity, Hospiscare, and the Maize Maze has raised a total of £3,061 for local charity ELF (Exeter Leukaemia Fund). Customers make a donation and can enjoy wandering around the field to choose their sunflowers and weave through the maze, trying to complete the giant puzzle.

Owners Michael and James Dart comment on the visitor attraction that newlyweds enjoying a mini-moon in the region should visit. Michael says: "Over the past 11 years our pick-your-own sunflowers have raised a total of £32,012.75 and over the past four years our Maize Maze has raised a total of £8,420. We would like to say a massive thank you to all of our incredibly generous customers that have helped us raise so much for these important local charities."

James Dart adds: "We’re passionate about nature and sustainability at Darts Farm. Sunflowers not only brighten up your day but provide much needed food for wildlife and bees that are under threat. Once the sunflowers die down, they are enjoyed by birds, who enjoy feasting on the seeds. The maize is also used as feed for our cattle once the summer is over and it’s ready to cut. We’re constantly reviewing new techniques across the business to become as sustainable and environmentally friendly as possible.”

Over the past 25 years, Darts Farm has continually evolved to become one of the most exciting shopping experiences in the South West. Darts Farm remains a family-run business by the Dart brothers with the retail side looked after by Michael and James and the farm headed up by Paul. The business is, at its core, still a working farm, and sells all of its home-grown produce directly through the farm shop.

Darts Farm prides itself on its exceptional customer experience and expertise, enhanced by the management and their passionate members of staff and artisan producers.
