Jennifer Emptage, 35, married Matthew Fowler, 33, at Polhawn Fort on 1st June, 2017.
We wanted a venue that offered a relaxed atmosphere where everyone could have fun with good food, music and a bar that wouldn't run dry, which is exactly what we achieved.
We hired a bouncy castle for the little ones which was such fun!
I burst into tears when our florist presented me with my bouquet! It was so pretty and mixed soft pink, peach and white flowers with lots of greenery. It was exactly what I had envisaged.
Polhawn Fort was the one and only venue that we looked at. We pulled up in the car park, admired the view and just knew it was everything we both wanted. We asked whether the date we needed was available before we even looked around and it was, it really was meant to be.
Matthew's parents made our wedding cake. They catered for all of our guests by using three different flavours and they had contacted our florist without us knowing so that they could match the flowers used to decorate it.
Our place names were handwritten by our bridesmaid, Sarah, who has an art degree. The table names were after different music venues and festivals that we love such as Brixton, Roundhouse, Reading and Glastonbury.
Our centerpieces were a mix of traditional flowers that our florist provided with plenty of foliage.
We decorated our venue with lots of bunting made by my mum including some special Mr & Mrs Fowler bunting behind the top table.
I chose a White by Vera Wang gown from David's Bridal in Westfield Stratford City, London. It was my one and only appointment trying on dresses and they soon realised what I was looking for. The gown really accentuated my curvy figure.
Matthew chose his own suit but I went along because I loved seeing him all dressed up! It was a blue style from Ted Baker. He chose pale pink ties for the groomsmen and his best man wore a matching suit to his.
I added an embellished vintage-style belt to my dress that finished it perfectly. I wore bright red shoes under my dress because I love the pin-up girl style.
We had an amazing band called Ride The Fire. Everyone danced the night away!
We took everyone outside as it got dark to light some sparklers and take some photographs.
“Matt and his groomsmen went for a swim in the sea on the morning of the wedding which is a Cornish tradition.” – Jennifer
