Alisha and Gavin met while they were both training to become karate instructors. "I was attracted to Gavin's kind nature and loved every moment that I spent in his company," Alisha tells us. "I liked how Alisha was so gentle," Gavin says, "and as I got to know her, I thought she was one of the kindest people that I had ever met."
The couple became engaged during a weekend away. "We were staying in a wooden cabin at a resort in Lanivet, Cornwall, and Gavin decorated it with red heart-shaped balloons which was a nod to one of my favourite songs, Red, by Catfish and the Bottlemen," Alisha tells us. "He also scattered roses on the bed and proposed with a ring that was engraved with the words marry me. It was a wonderful surprise."
Here, the couple tell us more about their rustic-inspired day with a burgundy, blush pink and gold colour theme.
We loved the warm and inviting feel that the Knightor Winery offered. The grounds were so pretty and the manor house that we stayed in was beautiful.
We placed moss, pine cones, tea lights and hanging hearts in the windows that looked so pretty and one window featured a gold deer.
We had a disco for the evening reception that was lots of fun!
The chairs were decorated with burgundy and blush bows and we hung paper pompoms from the ceiling accompanied by fairylights.
We both took a moment out of the day and enjoyed a ride to Charles town in our hired vintage car. We decided not to have our photographer with us at this point, we just wanted to be alone together and soak up the fact that we had just become husband and wife.
We placed the jars offlowers that lined ourceremony aisle on our tablesand laid foliage andfairylights around them. Wealso had scatter crystals onthe tables, rose quartz andsnow quartz gems, and tablerunners with stags on them.
We made our table plan that was presented ina frame and had gold table numbers to tie inwith our theme.
Our three-tier white cake featured ourinitials in gold, a floral border andwas decorated with sugar flowers.
We adored our giant illuminated letters.
We had a flower curtain placed behind the signing of the register table. This was also decorated with a small urn of flowers and G&A wire letters.
Gavin looked so handsome in his tweed suit teamed with a pocket watch and brown shoes. Our groomsmen chose their own grey suits and we gave them matching burgundy knitted ties, pocket squares and buttonholes to wear.
My dress was the style Cordelia by Maggie Sottero. I loved the lace detail, the sleeves, the low back and the fact it had pockets. I teamed it with a gold tiara and carried a cluster of blue celestite crystals in the pocket of my wedding dress as my something blue.
Our guests loved our pizza van serving wood-fired pizzas.
Our bridesmaids wore blush pink dresses and my maid-of-honour wore a burgundy gown. They each held a matching ivory pashmina and our pageboy wore a burgundy suit with a tweed hat.
