Katie and Ben met as children attending the same primary school. Growing up, they both went to the same clubs and parties, and finally became a couple.
“Ben proposed to me on Christmas Day in 2016 when I was heavily pregnant with our third child,” Katie tells us. “It was such a wonderful surprise. He had asked my dad for my hand in marriage and had spent the whole day worrying about when and how to pop the question!”

Our church ceremony was so beautiful.
The brief I requested for my flowers was simple, classy, beautiful and modern and I got just that, I loved them!
We chose The Falmouth Hotel as our wedding venue because I work there and we both knew just how beautiful it looks. We wanted a large space with sea views, great food and a personal service, so it ticked all the boxes.
We had a marble cake decorated with a touch of silver. It had a surprise leopard-print cake inside decorated with eucalyptus to match the bouquets, and it stood alongside 130 cupcakes.
Our cutlery sat on heart-shaped slates.
Our centerpieces were round slate place mats topped with candles, a vase holding the bridesmaids' bouquets, scatter crystals and aperspex table number. We ensured that groups of friends were sat together we had a total number of 112 guests.
Our favours were bottles of Corona for the men and gin and tonic served on arrival to the girls with a gin glass as a keepsake printed with 'love, laughter and gin'. We also gave scratch cards to everyone hoping they were lucky that day, just like we were, and little cards where they could write a message of advice to us both for our married life.
Our bridesmaids looked stunning in their pink sequin maxi dresses.
Ben wore a grey suit with a white shirt he looked so handsome!
I loved my Hayley Paige dress. I found it on Pinterest and knew I had to have it, so I purchased it from a boutique based up in Leeds who stocked it. I teamed it with some Jimmy Choo shoes.
The hotel did the catering for us with guests enjoying sharing boards of homemade bread and houmous, cold meats, olives and sushi rolls. The wedding breakfast was a tasty buffet of salmon, beef sirloin, chicken skewers, salad and sweet potato fries, while dessert was displayed on a large table and included a banoffee pie, warm apple crumble, chocolate brownies and a salted caramel cheesecake. We also had a candy table for the little ones.
Our groomsmen wore the same grey suits as Ben.
Our guests loved the band and DJ that we hired and were up dancing all night! Our first dance was a very special moment for us both.
