I love this time of year, not only because I’m a magpie who loves anything that sparkles, but because it’s an opportunity for me to create a magazine full of seasonal splendour! This year, I think we’re all looking forward to a special festive period of being reunited with loved ones to eat, drink and be merry now that all restrictions have been lifted. Whether you’re putting the finishing touches to a winter wedding or planning a larger affair for next year, it’s always fun for me to compile our end-of-year issue. I asked some of my favourite wedding photographers in both regions to send me their treasured Christmas wedding images which are revealed on page 53. I have also rounded up a selection of some of the best snowcapped venues in both regions that can be seen on page 19.
There’s also bridal jewellery and accessories, dream dresses, big-day beauty and hot honeymoon destinations, along with much more, so I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did creating it, and I’ll see you next year.

| Walking in a winter wonderland |

Pengersick Castle
This magical castle is steeped in history and home to original beamed ceilings, ornately carved fireplaces and a fine Tudor stone spiral staircase, ideal for photographs. Another Insta-worthy backdrop is the main entrance with its arched doorway with a built-in drop slot.
It sits in four acres of woodland that looks idyllic in the winter months under a blanket of snow. The Pleasure Garden can be used for an outdoor ceremony during the warmer months when the raised flower beds are brimming with roses and other seasonal blooms.
The castle is perfect for intimate affairs of up to 38 guests plus the couple. There are several licensed areas for ceremonies including the Gun Room where private dining can also be enjoyed. There is also the Solar room that enjoys views across the manicured grounds and the Drawing Room with its log fireplace perfect for cosy winter weddings. Outside, the Medieval Bower is an outdoor ceremony option.
Pengersick Castle has teamed up with BoHo Cornwall to host elopement weddings as part of a new package, more on this below, and are now taking bookings for weddings in 2023.
