The Horn of Plenty

This award-winning country hotel is set in fi ve acres of pretty landscaped grounds overlooking the picturesque Tamar Valley with far-fl ung views stretching across to Bodmin Moor. The hotel has recently enjoyed a major refurbishment in all the public spaces and the restaurant now features wall-to-ceiling sliding doors leading to the decked terrace that showcases these spectacular views.

Outdoor ceremonies can take place against this backdrop with guests enjoying al fresco drinks and garden games in the manicured walled garden. The grounds are home to a pond, a wild orchard and pretty walkways perfect for big-day photographs. The large Acer (maple) tree positioned just outside the restaurant adds romance to winter weddings turning seasonal shades of orange and red.

Inside, ceremonies take place in the lounge or the restaurant. The newly refurbished Drawing Room is ideal for a smaller micro wedding, and an intimate group of guests can also fi ll the library, a lovely spot for an elopement wedding. The wedding breakfast takes place in the award-winning restaurant with guests mingling in the newly decorated bar area afterwards.

The highly anticipated diamond episode of BBC's All That Glitters: Britain's Next Jewellery Star, hosted by comedian Katherine Ryan, aired last night with a feel-good story that couldn't fail to melt the heart.
