May/June 2019

Those of you planning a summer wedding will shortly be celebrating as the warmer days and longer evenings are now upon us. In my opinion, this is the best time of year to be getting married, especially in Devon or Cornwall with all that they have to offer. From chic coastal wedding venues to a cool selection of tipis and yurts available to hire, getting married in the South West can be as traditional or as informal as you like.

This issue we showcase wedding inspiration in al fresco tents and tipis with a festival feel (my favourite kind of wedding!) along with the cream of the crop of the wedding suppliers in both regions that can help to style them. There’s also real life love stories, hot honeymoons, fabulous fashion and beauty tips and tricks to get you big-day ready.

I’ve also added a selection of last-minute summer buys to invest in before your wedding so enjoy the prep and see you next issue!

Until then…

Cornish Tipi Holidays

This 20-acre site features tipis and tents pitched in a woodland valley around the spring-fed Tregildrans Quarry lake which is suitable for swimming, canoeing and fishing.

The arrangement of the tipis ensures privacy and there’s the choice of staying in the Village Field where you’ll have neighbours (ideal for large wedding parties to be together) or in your own clearing on a private site (perfect for newlyweds). There’s also a double private site where friends and family can book two tipis together.

Legally binding ceremonies take place outdoors under the archway or in the wedding pavilion located by the waters edge, with guests seated just outside. Receptions are hosted in the marquee located in the meadow.
