This issue, there has been so much going on in the world and no, I’m not talking about the pandemic! Although on the topic of our Prime Minister Boris Johnson, he got married to his bride, Carrie Symonds, who rented her Christos Costarellos wedding dress which became the inspiration for my eco and sustainable wedding feature this issue. Would you, or wouldn’t you, rent yours? The happy couple then headed to Carbis Bay Estate in Cornwall not for their honeymoon but with other world leaders for the G7 Summit.

Singer Ariana Grande caused an Instagram frenzy recently when she became married in an at-home celebration, coining the term ‘ceremini’ and her beautiful bridal make-up inspired our expert beauty feature this issue. We’ve got plenty more for a staycation summer spent wedding planning now that guest numbers have (finally) increased, from hydrangea-decorated cupcakes (my favourite flowers) to a converted Canadian school bus available to hire for weekend retreats so enjoy the issue and I’ll see you in September!

Tredudwell Manor
This rural wedding venue and luxury bed and breakfast are set in beautiful parkland brimming with colourful shrubs, far-flung sea views and lush green fields. It combines charming traditions with contemporary touches and has been lovingly renovated. Accessed via a sweeping driveway, the authentic stone exterior flanks this grand country residence that offers a beautiful big-day backdrop for photos.
The retreat is available for small, intimate weddings. Tredudwell Pavilion is a beautiful new addition to the venue that’s in keeping with the listed manor house. Constructed with Cornish stone, wood and a slate roof, the pavilion fuses old with new, combining the flexibility of a modern building with bi-fold doors to modulate the size of the rooms according to the number of guests, and incorporating traditional design elements, such as south-facing French windows that overlook the countryside. The granite terrace provides the perfect spot for a drinks reception in the sun, while the impressive, draped canvas ceiling and beautiful chandeliers add a feeling of grandeur.
Ceremonies take place in the indoor barn, inside the manor house and outside under the temples surrounding the pond creating a natural amphitheatre for seating guests. Receptions take place in the light and airy barn with its wooden porch and exposed beams, chandeliers and French windows that open to reveal the manicured grounds.
