January/February 2021

With the new year in full swing and Easter just around the corner, this is a popular time for proposals. After the uncertainty of 2020, spring is almost upon us bringing with it the milder temperatures, lighter evenings and green shoots. Plenty of you might be planning to marry this year having been locked down with your loved one and realising that you don't want to be apart from them so this new-season issue is crammed full of real-life wedding inspiration, expert advice from local suppliers, staycation honeymoons and beautiful bridal fashion.

If like me, you can't wait to spoil your mum this Mother's Day (which falls on my birthday this year) then check out our website and social channels for great ideas on how to spoil her, from fabulous flowers to beauty products. Wishing you all a chocolate (and shoe-filled) Easter and I'll see you next issue!

Polurrian on the Lizard

This clifftop retreat offers stunning coastal views of the unspoilt Lizard Peninsula. The hotel is surrounded by 12 acres of mature gardens and offers easy access to the South West Coast Path as well as the property’s own sandy beach, Polurrian Cove. The striking white exterior allows the colourful gardens to pop against the backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean and there’s a seasonal outside pool plus an outdoor terrace ideal for alfresco dining, positioned to watch the breathtaking sunsets.

The contemporary interior offers a relaxed, comfortable vibe. The bar area showcases panoramic sea views along with the restaurant which features a large Gozney wood-fired oven. The bedrooms offer a home-from-home feel and the perfect chance to wind down in the luxurious feather bedding.

Ceremonies take place in a choice of three areas, from the traditional Marconi Room featuring classic details offering a timeless feel (ideal for intimate celebrations with up to 60 guests) to the Cove View Suite which is a bright and airy room providing a blank canvas for any theme. This suite has a private bar, washroom and outdoor terrace with coastal views and can hold up to 90 loved ones (when restrictions lift). The restaurant, a versatile space with bright furnishings, is another option for up to 60 people.
