REAL WEDDINGS 41 “Special thanks to my parents, Nicky and Ian, for making this all happen!” - Abby our naked wedding cake topped with a Mr & Mrs Tortoise because we love tortoises! It looked incredible and tasted delicious!” Abby and Joe wanted to use a local caterer who could make a luxurious picnic. “Sweetlands Country Fare were able to do just this and more!” Abby says. “We met the proprietor Pam, and her husband Gerald, to discuss our requirements. They were fantastic and scheduled our entire day which made us feel very organised and relaxed!” LOOKING THE PART Abby wore the first dress that she tried on. “It just felt perfect,” she tells us. “I tried on others but I still loved the first one. It was called Ireland by Sottero & Midgley made with ivory embellished lace. It featured a sweetheart neckline and corset closure and I added lace cap sleeves for comfort.” Joe wore a blue suit, bow tie and shoes while the couple’s bridesmaids wore blush pink dresses. “Our flowergirls looked adorable in their dresses and sandals,” Abby says. TIME TO ENTERTAIN Abby and Joe had a local band playing live during the reception combined with a playlist. “The band were fantastic and got everyone up dancing,” Abby says. “We had a fireworks display later on in the evening which was wonderful against the breathtaking backdrop of the Devonshire countryside. Having everyone gathered outside watching the display with us is a memory that will stay with us forever.” 
