Caerhays Estate
Couples who dream of marrying in a castle will love this 200-year-old building nestled in 140 acres of gardens, woodland and beaches that make up the estate. Popular with film crews including director Tim Burton, best known for this work on Edward Scissorhands and the 2005 remake of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, he took over the estate to shoot Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children with Hollywood stars Samuel L Jackson, Chris O’Dowd and Dame Judy Dench.
Ceremonies take place for an intimate 20 guests between April and September at The Old Coastguards Lookout situated on the headland with breathtaking views of Veryan Bay. Alternatively, The Vean is a beautiful five-star, eight-bedroom restored Georgian house right at the heart of the Caerhays Estate that can be hired for the entire wedding day. Receptions take place here for up to 60 guests seated in the marquee that covers the terrace at the side of the house. A larger structure can be erected on the lawn outside for up to 250 loved ones.
There’s a private beach on the estate, a café hosting regular entertainment and drive-in movies to keep guests entertained.
