My father has inspired my letter this issue. I know that I’m very fortunate to have a wonderful dad with whom I have such a close bond. He has devoted his life to being our father, and my brother and myself wouldn’t be where we are today without his love, encouragement and support right from our childhood years, through our teens into early adulthood and beyond. This included supporting us through both of our weddings and it’s this father-of-the-bride and-groom role (whether he’s your biological dad or stepfather) that’s often the subtle backbone to the day. Some offer financial support, others are there in the background ensuring that everything is running smoothly, calming you down as you prepare to walk down the aisle, and entertaining loved ones with a humorous and heartfelt speech. It’s hard to know how to thank him, which is where my hand-picked selection of the season’s latest buys comes in. Whatever your budget, there will be something to suit him.

Clifford Barton Weddings
Clifford Barton Weddings is a new venue set in a 50-acre environmentally friendly nature reserve. It offers ancient stone barns with modern amenities, a freshwater lake, wildflower meadows for photographs and nature trails to entertain wedding guests.
Ceremonies take place under a timber-framed shelter crafted from wood on the banks of the Bridesmere Lake, or in one of the two medieval stone barns. There’s another larger, rustic-style barn available for the reception.
There’s ample accommodation at the venue for guests who can stay up to one week if they wish to do so. Three converted barns on-site combine to accommodate more than 18 loved ones. There’s also the option to glamp or camp next door with plenty more local accommodation nearby.
